How to Apply
The Cornwall Workshop at Kestle Barton | 13 to 20 March 2026

Who can apply?
The workshop is designed to provide opportunities for artists, curators and writers resident in Cornwall and the South West. Candidates from outside the region may apply if they have a special interest in and relationship with the South West and have knowledge and experience that could be of particular relevance to the workshop.
Selection process
The workshop will accommodate twelve participants selected from the open call.
This year’s selection panel includes independent curator and writer Teresa Gleadowe and artist Ane Hjort Guttu.
Selection will be based on completed application forms and supporting information received following the Call for Participation.
Dates and deadlines
The workshop will take place from Friday 13 to Friday 20 March 2026.
Completed applications must be sent via email to [email protected] no later than midnight on Sunday 18 January 2026. Selected participants will be informed by Friday 30 January.

Residential conditions
The Cornwall Workshop is residential and accommodation is provided at Kestle Barton. Please note that all rooms are for shared occupancy and we are not able to offer individual rooms. Facilities include shared bathrooms, living rooms, kitchens and dining space, and a seminar room. All meals are provided.
Contribution
We ask for a contribution of £120 towards costs, to be paid in advance.
Preparation
The workshop is an intensive experience and requires commitment. Participants will be asked to come prepared to give a brief presentation about their work and interests and may be asked to do some specific preparation and research in advance.
Evaluation
Feedback and evaluation is a key aim and outcome of the workshop and participants are asked to provide written evaluations as a condition of their participation. We hope that participants will also contribute to the continuing legacy of the workshop by sharing ideas with other artists and arts practitioners in the region.

The Office for Contemporary Art Norway have provided production support for The Cornwall Workshop 2026.
